Can breastfeeding cause constipation? I have not had constipation since my last pregnancy two years ago, and do not usually have any problems.

Chances are that your body has little fluid volume and is not controlling how much you're drinking while breastfeeding to lose too much fluid. Dehydration can cause constipation, as their large intestine recapture most of the fluid reaching this level, and therefore constipated.
