Is it safe to have acupuncture during pregnancy , especially during the first trimester? I've been doing to acupuncture for a while, it's going very well, my chronic back pain side pain and numbness in the leg has never been better ( including cortisone injections )
Acupuncture is safe during pregnancy and is even eficacaz to promote movement in breech babies in the third quarter. These treatments should be avoided in the first quarter. Acupuncture often combines the use of medicinal herbs, but the possible effects have not been studied during pregnancy and should be avoided unless it is approved by your obstetrician. Homeopathy can be a safer option .
