Several times a week I feel muscle cramps , cramps in the chest near the bottom of the ribs, isqueotibiales , back in the arch , fingers, hand and foot. They are very painful.
For a doctor , a cramp means an involuntary muscle contraction that moves a joint. For patients, the cramps can mean the same thing, but they are often used to describe a type of pain and does not involve the contraction of muscles. Cramps can be a very worrying sign of disease. These include problems with the thyroid or adrenal glands, an imbalance of salts in the blood ( such as magnesium and potassium ) , or the effects of drugs or poisons. A number of rare neurological diseases can also cause cramps, including stiff person syndrome , McArdle 's disease , tetanus and others.
