Pain located near the top of the breast bone, reflect an irritation in the esophagus (swallowing responsible) and its entry into the stomach. Stomach acids can rise up the esophagus and cause a burning sensation and pain when eating. Caffeine, carbonated products, chocolate, acidic foods and go to sleep after eating can exacerbate this problem. Check with your doctor.
