What could cause the eye is also swollen from infection ? I do not have red eyes , but I have a fever and headache for more than a week ago. The doctor gave me some drops for an eye infection but are not helping.

Allergies cause more inflammation of the eyes and not an "infection" . In addition , as we age the connective tissue around the eye may become loose , and small fat deposits around the eye may bulge forward, giving the appearance of a swollen and inflamed eyes .
